Formed in 2022, the Waldstein Trio is a prize-winning piano trio based in London. In only its first month of existence the trio won the Second Prize at the Cavatina Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition at Wigmore Hall as the only London College prize winners. In the following years, the trio won prizes in several international competitions and played in prestigious venues around the world such as Musikverein's Brahms Saal in Vienna, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Beethoven House in Bonn, Carnegie Hall-Weill Room in New York, BANFF Centre in Canada, Bechstein Hall in London. The trio has also performed extensively in the UK and in several European countries including Malta, Cyprus and France. Apart from covering the broad standard repertoire for piano trio and piano quartet/quintet, the members of the trio have a mission to work with living composers with commitment and dedication to perform new works. Notable collaborations include premieres of works by Sem Hak (Holland), Valentina Ciardelli (Italy), Haris Kittos (Greece), Stephen Johnson (UK) and Christodoulos Georgiades (Cyprus/UK).
The trio signed a two-year contract with the Manhattan Concert Artist Management Agency in New York after winning the First Prize in the Manhattan International Music Competition. The release of their first CD is happening at the end of this year by Orpheus Classical. The members of the Trio would like to express their gratitude for the invaluable support of Philip Carne MBE. In addition, acknowledgment to the members of Faculty of Trinity Laban, Elizabeth Lloyd-Davies and Teresa and Jonathan Sumption for their continuous support.
