Originally from Bendigo, Australia and now based in London, Patrick Savage has led a multifaceted musical career across genres. One of Britain's foremost violinists and a former principal member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, he has performed on the great stages of the world as guest concertmaster, soloist and chamber musician. His 2024 album, The Golden Age of Hollywood: Concert Works for Violin and Piano, was BBC Music Magazine's chamber release of the month in June. He studied under Donald Scotts in Melbourne and Dr Felix Andrievsky at the Royal College of Music, later holding fellowships at both the Royal Academy and Royal College. As first violinist of the Tippett Quartet, he gave acclaimed Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room recitals, championing British contemporary composers. He has appeared as soloist with the BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and Young Musicians' Symphony Orchestra.
Violinist Markella Vandoros is a highly versatile London-based artist who has performed as both soloist and chamber musician throughout the UK and Europe. As a founding member of the Mediterranea Trio but also as a recitalist alongside pianists Hara Kostogianni and Emma Abbate, Markella has appeared at numerous venues around the country, including St John's Smith Square, British Museum, St Martin-in-the-Fields, National Gallery, St James Piccadilly, V&A Museum, Chichester Cathedral, and Balliol College Oxford, among others. She has performed as soloist with orchestras such as the National Symphony Orchestra of Athens, the Orchestra of Patras and the Nonesuch Orchestra. Markella studied with renowned violinist Boris Belkin at the Maastricht Conservatorium, and with Yuri Zhislin at the Royal College of Music, obtaining a Master of Music in Advanced Performance. Markella also holds a PhD in Music from King's College London. Markella plays on a violin built by Roberto Regazzi and dedicated to Boris Belkin, and an Eugene Sartory bow (c.1895).
Yuri Zhislin enjoys an active and illustrious career as soloist and chamber musician. In 1991, Yuri entered the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied with his father and later Dr Andrievsky, winning the title of the BBC Radio 2 Young Musician of the Year in 1993. He made his recital debut at the New York Carnegie Weill Hall in 2014 and appeared at the major concert venues throughout Europe, the USA, South America, Australia and Japan. His discography includes a recital CD released in 2005 on the SOMM label, a violin/viola Duos CD for the Naxos label in 2009, and a string trio CD for the Nymbus Alliance label with Dmitry Sitkovetsky on violin and Luigi Piovano on cello. Yuri is a professor of violin and viola at the Royal College of Music in London and is in high demand as a visiting professor at the European Summer Academies.
Kirsten Jenson has a broad career as a chamber musician and soloist. She made her solo debut playing the Schumann Cello Concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra while studying with renowned pedagogue Johannes Goritzki. She has recorded for Channel Classics and Bis Records, and toured internationally as cellist in the Ragazze Quartet in Holland. Major festivals include the Piatigorsky Cello Festival and Hatfield House, and she has guested with ensembles such as the historic Allegri Quartet, Primrose Piano Quartet and United Strings of Europe (their recent Wigmore Hall concert was broadcast live on Radio 3). Kirsten has just completed a concert tour of China, appearing as a soloist and chamber musician in several major cities. She joins LCE Quartet for Schubert Quintet in HHH Concerts 13.12.25.
Raised in California and based in London, pianist Anyssa Neumann studied at the Manhattan School of Music and University of Oxford, followed by studies in Berlin, Montreal and Madrid. She obtained a PhD in musicology from King's College London in 2017, and completed a postdoctoral research position at Uppsala University in 2023. Recent projects have included Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 with orchestras in California and Sweden, duo recitals with flautist Håkan Sundin, concerts with the Swedish wind quintet Fem Blåsare, and experiments with solo recital formatting, resulting in a new concert experience called Meditations. A keen performer of art song, Anyssa enjoys ongoing partnerships with British bass-baritone Timothy Dickinson (BBC Singers) and American soprano Rena Harms (ENO, LA Opera). During the Covid-19 pandemic, she video-recorded Bach's Goldberg Variations at home; called #IsolationVariations, and the playlist of all 32 videos can be found on YouTube.
