Sofía Gómez Alberto is a Spanish violinist and violist based in London. She recently completed her Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music, where she studied in the class of Itzhak Rashkovsky and Bryony Gibson-Cornish as a Gladys Hay Scholar. Passionate about chamber music, Sofía has performed in venues such as the Elgar Room and the Wigmore Hall, where she performed Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht as part of the 2024 RCM Strings Showcase. She is the violist of the Isla String Quartet, which was recently selected as 2025 Tillett Debut Artist, and she is also a founding member of the Iridescence Ensemble, a flexible clarinet/strings/piano ensemble dedicated to bringing 20 th and 21 st century chamber music to a wider audience. As a keen orchestral player, Sofía took part in the 2023/2024 BBCSO's Pathway Scheme and has been freelancing with the London Symphony Orchestra since early 2024. She has also performed with the European Union Youth Orchestra, LGT Young Soloists and Sinfonia Cymru.
Sofía was recently awarded the Tagore Gold Medal at the 2025 RCM Graduation Ceremony. Other prizes and awards include the 3rd Prize at the 2023 Llanes International Viola Competition, the Viola Prize at the 2022 RCM Viola Competition and the 2018 Junior Guildhall Lutine Prize. Sofía's teachers have included Nathan Braude, Lutsia Ibragimova, Yuri Zhislin, Anna-Liisa Bezrodny and Valeri Gazarian. She is a graduate of the 2024 Keshet Eilon Mastercourse and has also performed in masterclasses with Maxim Vengerov, Alina Ibragimova and Nobuko Imai. In April 2025, Sofia attended the IMS Prussia Cove masterclasses, where she studied with Thomas Riebl. Sofía is grateful to have received support from the Antonio Brosa Award, ABRSM Queen's Platinum Jubilee Award, St Marylebone Educational Foundation, Albert Cooper Music Charitable Trust, AIE and FIDAH Foundation towards her studies. Sofía plays on a Giovanni Grancino violin c.1700, kindly on loan from the Harrison-Franck Family Foundation in association with J&A Beare.
Svitlana Kosenko was born in Ukraine and studied first in Kharkiv Special Music School with professor Svitlana Zaharova. After graduating with a Bachelor and a Masters degree from Kharkiv University of Arts, where she studied with professor Natalya Melnikova, Svitlana returned to work as a principal piano teacher at her alma mater Kharkiv Special Music School. Svitlana is a laureate
of many international competitions. In 1999, she won Second Prize in the International Competition of French-Polish Music in Paris. 2001 saw Svitlana take first prize in the Smetana International Competition and was awarded a Special Prize for her performance at the Enescu Competition. In 2012, she won Best Pianist at the Joseph Suder Lieder Competition. In 2014, she completed her studies at Saar University of Music, Germany, with a Masters degree in Chamber
Music under professor Tatevik Mokatsian. From 2014-2022 she worked as Official Staff Pianist at The Yehudi Menuhin School. In 2022, Svitlana started to work at the Royal College of Music as an accompanist of the strings department.
