Continuum was founded in 2018 by Harry Guthrie aiming to represent the very best traditions of choral singing. The choir prides itself in offering original and dynamic interpretations of repertoire from the Renaissance to the present alongside promoting new commissions and under-performed pieces. Continuum's membership is flexible and comprises some of the finest young singers in the UK. Many of the singers met at University whilst singing in the Choirs of Trinity and St John's College in Cambridge.

The choir celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2024 and, to date, has performed thirty-six concerts across twelve locations in England and Wales. The choir enjoys performing regularly in London and Cambridge and has given concerts in Oxford, Bedford, Amersham, Harpenden, Sevenoaks, Salisbury, Wells and Sherborne. Continuum has performed as part of the Brecon Choral Festival and the Lamberhurst Music Festival. In 2025, the choir will give concerts in London and Oxford, perform for the first time at the St Andrew's Festival in Bedford and begin a new partnership with Clare Hall, Cambridge.

True to our founding ambition to develop new repertoire, we have commissioned nine new works by seven different composers. Some are new and upcoming voices – Lucy Walker, Carlos Rodríguez Otero, Alexander Hopkins, Helena Paish and Harold Thalange, with others being more established composers, Stuart Beer and Geraint Lewis. The choir enjoys an ongoing association with the charity Multitude of Voyces and gave a concert in support of their work in April 2023. Continuum recently recorded music for their Elizabeth Poston project in January 2025.

April 2024 saw the launch of the Continuum Choral Library, with new releases of choral music every month until late 2025. Accessible via Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, the library showcases our music to wider audiences beyond live performance. Releases include volumes of British music from the twentieth century, music from the Tudor Renaissance music for Christmas and a series of our commissions.
