South Korean pianist Su Yeon Kim has been described by the press as « one of the most empathetic and sincere musicians of the young generation. Her achievements include the second prize at the Mozart International Competition Salzburg 2020 and many more: the first and the special prize ‘Fundacion Internacional Gomez-Martinez' at the Compositores de Espana Piano Competition, 1st prize at the J. N. Hummel International Piano Competition, 2nd prize at the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition and 3rd prize at the Alaska International e-Piano Competition. She also won the Gold prize at the Asia Chopin International Piano Competition and the 2nd prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. She was a semi-finalist of both the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw 2015 and the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels 2016. As a soloist she has appeared with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie, Mozarteum Sinfonieorchester, Poland Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, St. Gellert Academy Orchestra, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Fairbanks Philharmonic Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, and Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra. Born in 1994, she started playing piano at age 5 and studied at The Korean Institute for the Gifted in Arts and at the Korea National University of Arts. Since 2013, she has continued her studies with Professor Pavel Gililov at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg.
