Umberto Jacopo Laureti was born in 1991 in Italy and studied at the Pergolesi Conservatoire where he graduated with top marks and honourable mention. He then attended the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, receiving his Diploma with honours. He recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London with a Dip RAM (Academy's highest performance award for an outstanding final recital). He is now enrolled as a Phd student at the Royal Academy of Music, where he is researching on the figure of Ferruccio Busoni. He has widely performed both as a soloist and chamber musician in Italy, France, Spain, Germany and United Kingdom in important venues such as Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Teatro Malibran and Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Palacio Festivales in Santander, Regent Hall, St. James Piccadilly, Duke's Hall and Royal Albert Hall in London. He has recently played in renowned festivals and foundations, such as Lisztomanias Festival of Chateauroux, Lago Maggiore Musica Festival, Liszt Festival of Grottammare, Summer Piano Festival of the Royal Academy of Music, William Walton Foundation in Ischia, Amici della Musica of Arezzo, Fano, Osimo and in several venues of the Jeunesse Musicales Network. In 2013 Umberto was top prize winner at Premio Venezia and first prize at Nuova Coppa Pianisti. He has been selected to take part in several renowned festivals across Europe, amongst them the Encuentro de Musica de Santander and the Oxford Piano Festival.
